Despite Chung Sang Hwa’s (1932– ) market recognition in South Korea as a blue-chip Dansaekhwa artist, there has been scant academic scrutiny of his six-decade practice compared to that of his contemporaries, such as Lee Ufan and Park Seo-Bo.
