Reza Abdoh may very well be America’s most prolific avant-garde playwright and director that no one has heard of. He died of complications related to AIDS in 1995 at the age of 32. “Although not always a popular success, his work was generally staged to critical accolades,” read his obituary in the Los Angeles Times
