Kerryn Greenberg, curator of Fahrelnissa Zeid’s retrospective exhibition at London’s Tate Modern gallery, notes in her introduction how astonishing it is that “an artist of such force and originality should have been practically forgotten.” Although the Turkish painter has become obscure in the Western hemisphere in the 26 years following her death, her works remain full of life.
