Taipei Art Community Resists Government's Heavy Hand

In Taipei city this april, prosecutors dropped criminal charges of "illegal occupation" against artist Lee Guo-min and two other individuals after they overstayed their lease at the squatter community and artist village Treasure Hill. The decision brings an anti-climactic resolution to the yearlong struggle by Treasure Hill residents - mainly aging KMT veterans and fringe artists~to retain their common home.
