Funding Fuss For Thai Film

BANGKOK — Thai artists claimed a partial victory on May 3 after protesting lopsided allocations in the government’s first effort to fund film productions. Led by artists Manit Sriwanichpoom and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the group complained when half of the 200 million baht (USD 6.2 million) fund was awarded to a single studio production, leaving the rest to be divided among 49 other projects.
