Vasl: Minding the Gaps

Located in a region rarely cited for cool-headed collaboration, this Karachi-based artist-run initiative has provided a decade of vital support for local artists, connecting unlikely audiences with contemporary art.

In Pakistan, a dearth of museums, art colleges and alternative spaces has forced committed artists to step in to fill the gaps. Karachi-based artist collective Vasl operates in this very vein.
