New York- and Berkeley-based Lee Mingwei was born in Taiwan in 1964, and holds an MFA in sculpture from Yale University. He is best known for his interactive installations and performances, including The Male Pregnancy Project (2001– ), in which he perpetuated a male pregnancy hoax. Lee has exhibited worldwide, most recently at the Museum of Chinese in America in New York, in 2010.
