Born in 1973, Singapore-based artist Charles Lim is a former national sailor who competed for Singapore in the 1996 Olympics and Team China in the 2007 America’s Cup. He is currently producing a video project titled “Sea State,” a series of works in which the roles of land and sea are inversed.
Describe your work in ten words.
My work is about relationships between physical and virtual systems, i.e. land, water, submarine cables, internet and physical realities. These are my points of entry. Where it leads to—I am not sure.
