At first, the eight paintings by Udomsak Krisanamis on the three walls of the Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington, Seattle, seemed to fall short of the usual expectations for contemporary art. The hundreds of dots on monochromatic colour fields are unpretentious, almost too blunt to challenge.
