JAIPUR

NANDAN GHIYA, The Dreamer 6, 2012, acrylic on reconstructed

vintage painting and wooden frame, 50.8 x 45.7 cm. Courtesy the artist.

Indian artist Nandan Ghiya appropriates and defaces old photographs, fascinated by their distinct characters and evocations of time and place, qualities that have been lost to a significant degree amid today’s proliferation of digital images.
