Christie’s Touches Down in Shanghai

Christie’s has received a license from the Chinese government to operate in Shanghai starting in September, making it the first foreign auction house to conduct business independently on the mainland. Chinese authorities had previously blocked the international players vying for unfettered access to possibly the world’s largest art market.
