My Personal Journey to a Voodoo Priest (2015), a mixed-media work by Kenya-born, Zürich-based artist YVONNE APIYO BRAENDLE-AMOLO, who will be the only Kenyan national representing the country in its second pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale. Other participants featured in the Kenya Pavilion include six Chinese artists and the Italian real-estate magnate Armando Tanzini.

Visitors will see the return of the Kenya Pavilion—which made its debut in 2013—at the 56th Venice Biennale this year. But why are Chinese artists representing the African country—again?
