The issue of hybrid identities has been receiving wide attention in the western art world recently. The exhibition 'Across the Pacific: Contemporary Korean and Korean American Art', organised by the Queens Museum in New York, stressed not only concerns about ethnicity but also awareness of questions about gender, cultural displacement, and contemporary political events affecting artists in Korea and in North America.
