It's very tempting to think of Pakistani artist Mariam Suhail as an observer of obsolescence. For "Accidental Excavations," her first solo show in Dubai, she freeze-framed outcast objects—including a scarred roll of newsprint and a crumbling textbook—before zeroing in on the minutiae of their existence.
