Raw sexual energy exploded out of many of the most political canvases in the Museum of Contemporary Art's landmark 1993 exhibition of contemporary Chinese art, 'Mao Goes Pop'. In Li Shan's Rouge C, Chairman Mao's naked body grapples that of another male as giant lotuses spring from their bums. In Rouge B, a naked male figure sprouts two ginormous penises, which he holds out to either sideā€¦
