After almost a decade since the lifting of martial law, the period of political protest in art has come to an end in Taiwan: While the 198os was a period of confrontation and transition, marked by the end of the Chiang era, the 1990s signalled a turning point or a pluralist vision based on nationalist concerns and the electron of the first Taiwanese President, Lee Teng-Hui.
