Had Channels and Confluences: A History of Singapore Art set out to be a general guide to Singaporean art, few would dispute that it has achieved its purpose. However, given that the book is written by the Director of the Singapore Art Museum, Kwok Kian Chow, and that it is one of the few available texts on Singaporean art, one is compelled to evaluate it more critically.
