One of the more pleasurable shows of this Spring in New York City was of Jung Hyang Kim's paintings at the Art Projects International gallery in SoHo, Upon entering the exhibition the viewer was confronted by a field of vivid colour and dramatic tonal contrasts. These large diptych panels juxtapose floral, striped and polka-dot patterns in an unnervingly eccentric manner that suggests a sharp division of the psyche.
