The notion of the museum as monument is timeworn, fading as objects are resurrected from archives and fresh dialogue is activated, and as shifts away from curatorial interpretations of history allow the privileging of individual readings. There remains, though, a sense that it is a responsibility of state and national institutions to initiate and evolve models of how art and artifacts should be shown…
