In late 2000 a group of Confucian feminist1 artists in Korea made the evening news. During the months of September and October, Korea's cyberspace was abuzz with the events surrounding the feminist group and their confrontation with Confucian patriarchs. Called Ip-gim - a word that does not translate directly into English, but which loosely means 'the air that is exhaled' - the group is composed of eight women with a common interest in exposing the effect of Confucianism…
