Yokohama, Japan's largest port city, formed the backdrop for the Yokohama 2001 International Triennale of Contemporary Art. A new event on the international arts calendar, the triennale brought together ambitious new bodies of work, as well as selected recent works, by over seventy artists from Japan and abroad.
