More than 150,000 mainly male devotees turn out every year to get a glimpse of the Christ-like statue at the Feast of the Black Nazarene, the Philippines' largest festival held in January at Quiapo in downtown Manila. Even the ropes that guide the bearers of Sefior Nazarene's carriage, as well as the towels or kerchiefs wiped over the statue, are grabbed at for their potentially emissive healing properties…
