I don't care for Mariko Mori's artwork, and never have, although I must confess to a grudging respect for the young Japanese artist after viewing a retrospective of her videos, photographs, drawings and installations at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. It is not just that Mori's works are immaculately conceived, professionally installed and beautifully presented, qualities all too rare in today's retro-grunge art world, but that her decade-long practice…
